He does it again — Ellis takes on the Sydney Backyard Ultra

Once again, Ellis has stepped up and taken on another incredible challenge in memory of Ricky — his biggest one yet.

Never one to shy away from pushing himself to his limits, Ellis continues to do his bit for Ricky and The Ricky Casey Trust, taking on both mental and physical challenges that most people wouldn't even consider. This time, it was the Sydney Backyard Ultra — an event that is certainly not for the faint-hearted.

The Backyard Ultra is a brutal test of endurance, determination and mindset, requiring runners to complete a 6.7km loop every hour, on the hour, for as long as they can. It's not a challenge you enter lightly, and it takes a special kind of person to keep going when the body and mind are telling you to stop.

Despite suffering an injury, Ellis battled on to complete 15 yards, covering an incredible 100 kilometres, before being forced to call it a day. While the injury brought his event to an end, it certainly didn't take away from what was a phenomenal achievement.

As if that wasn't enough, Ellis also raised an amazing £1,486 for The Ricky Casey Trust, helping us continue raising awareness of Renal Medullary Carcinoma (RMC) and supporting the work we do in Ricky's memory.

Ellis continues to honour Ricky in the best possible way — by challenging himself, inspiring others and showing the determination and resilience that Ricky himself was known for.

From all of us at The Ricky Casey Trust, thank you, Ellis. We are incredibly proud of you, and we're sure Ricky would be too.
